Health care leaders will be in Detroit Oct. 9 to discuss the feasibility of the health care proposals made by Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama at a summit meeting presented by the Michigan Cover the Uninsured Network.
The event, entitled “Health Coverage in America: Understanding the Issues and Proposed Solutions to be held from 6-8 p.m. at The Detroit Marriott Hotel. Scheduled speakers include:
Henry J. Aaron, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.
Nancy Schlichting, president and CEO of Henry Ford Health System in Detroit and chair of the Michigan Health and Hospital Association.
Marianne Udow-Phillips, director for the Center for Healthcare Research and Transformation in Ann Arbor.
John J.H. Schwarz, a physician and former U.S. congressman.
Ron Dzwonkowski, editorial page editor of the Detroit Free Press, who will act as moderator.
